PRACTICE #1: Centering Prayer w/Alexis Francisco
In this brief introduction, Alexis Francisco will share reflections on the Christian contemplative practice of Centering Prayer as ‘divine therapy’, in the words of Fr. Thomas Keating. Beyond our thoughts, opinions and conditioning, this practice invites us to an embodied intimacy between ourselves and the divine - an intimacy that opens us up to healing and transformation. We will also move beyond the dominant white perspectives on the practice to explore what centering prayer can offer the work of decolonizing our minds as POC.

PRACTICE #2: Welcoming Prayer and Resilience
In this session, Hailey Mitsui will be doing a brief introduction to the contemplative practice of Welcoming Prayer as a tool for healing emotional wounds. We will explore how Welcoming Prayer can strengthen our necessarily resilient, POC spirits. Together we will: focus, feel, welcome and let go.
